Further in the week, I had a small block of intensity. Since Rabbit Ears was too high, I had to resort to doing them on rollerskis. After skiing on snow for a full week, it was a sad feeling having to go back to pavement instead of mother nature. The good news, was I had a good teammate with me to do the intervals with. Having Todd Lodwick, to ski next too, was a good thing for me. Todd has been in the sport for a very long time, and I feel like he might have some good insight to help improve my cross country even more!
The last intensity session I had was on my own. While the guys in park city were doing a time trial, I had to do one in Steamboat. Starting at 930 am, I started the Sanctuary time trial, that is hard enough to make you dead for the rest of the day. At just over 9 kilometers, the course starts out climbing from the get go. With not many places to rest, it really tests your endurance levels and total fitness. I was please to see that I had my best time with some of the toughest conditions.
To say the least, I feel that I am in very good form and it is only getting better heading into the first world cups of the year. On November 18th, the season starts as we depart for Norway and Finland!!!
Stay tuned for more updates!
