Tomorrow is the big day. Tomorrow is going to be a long day but can be well worth it. At 9 am at the Utah Olympic Park the k120 Jumping Nationals will Commence. The first round of competition jumping will count toward the Nordic Combined Race. All I am focusing on is the first competition jump. My Jumping feels like its on track for a very good result. For me to have a chance to win, I think I need to start within a minute of the winner. I know my cross country is fast and with the way my jumping is progressing I feel like I could have a very successful day tomorrow. If anyone is in Park City or Salt Lake, YOU SHOULD COME WATCH!!!!

On Saturday 7/24/10 I had the Chalk Creek Road Race. It was a 50 mile bike race from Coalville, Utah to the Wyoming Border. I felt very good all the way to the finish, but didn't get my jump on the field for the sprint to the line. Bike racing is something we have all got very interested in. Bill Demong has been racing for a little while now and he has shown great effects for his ski racing and also something for him to work hard for during the summer.
Friday we had a Jumping Competition and race. I didn't have my best jumps but they weren't too bad and I know I can do better. The race was not a problem. I seem to always race fine, and just hope I can put a jump and race together. Starting last week we have a new training mate! Australia is testing a xc athlete in the our sport of Nordic Combined. His name is Ben Sim and he went to the 2010 Olympics for Cross Country. His xc skills are pretty good and now he just needs to learn how to jump! It will be interesting to see his progress over the summer and how he learns to jump! I will be on this more frequent, as Nationals are coming up and so are Summer Grand Prix! So long, taylor Sorry Everyone, I have been pretty busy and kind of forgot to update the site!! In the past couple weeks since I last updated, I have been hard at work. I am getting close to paying of my new bike, by working at RED BANJO PIZZA here in Park City. Also I have several big summer competitions coming up in the next month. As far as my goals for the year these competitions are pretty high up there. I feel like I am in Very good form for this time of the year. For Nationals, My goals are as follows:
1. Podium in the Nordic Combined Competitions. 2. Have the fastest XC Time 3. Jump to top 5 in the Nordic Combined Jumping Competition My other big Competitions of the summer are Summer Grand Prix in Germany. The reason why theses competitions are important to me, is because I have the chance to secure another Spot either for myself or the team for the start of the winter. By making the Summer Grand Prix count as a World Cup period, It allows teams to get points towards Quota" or starting positions for a future period! My goals for that are as follows: 1. Score Points 2.Earn another world cup Spot For USA for winter 3. First top 15 on world cup level 4. Top 10 XC times Ill Do my best to keep everyone updated. Look forward to more posts as Nationals come around, July 28-30, at Utah Olympic Park and Soldier Hollow Olympic Park. Summer Grand Prix will be in Obersdorf, Germany 8/7/10-8/8/10 and in Oberwiesenthal, Germany 8/13/10-8/14/10 So long! This past week our team has been in Steamboat for our first team camp of the year. Every year we come to Steamboat during the July 4th holiday for some jumps and some fun! I love this camp because it allows me to train at home. Yesterday we had one of the harder time trials. It is about 9 kilometers long, but it has the time of about a 12k or so. I felt very good skiing with 3x Silver medalist Johnny Spillane for the first couple kilometers. Then I was able to pull away and finish on my own. I had the Fastest time at 26 minutes and Nick Hendrickson was 2nd at 26.30. After the Time trial we had the afternoon off, So a couple of us decided to cool off from the heat and tube down the Yampa River. Starting on Saturday, July 3rd, we will have the first Jumping Competition of the year. Sunday we will have another followed by a 2k Sprint Down Main Street With the whole town out to watch!!!
Tune back later for more news from this Wonderful Event!!! |
