So today we did a 4x4 interval session. But duing the session we do what is called Lactate testing. Lactic acid is produced by the muscle cells and red blood cells. It gets made when the body uses carbohydrates, for energy during times of low oxygen levels such as hard exercise. How we test for it is, someone pokes your finger like a blood sugar tester. But what it tests is the amount of Lactic Acid that is in your blood. It is measured in "milimolars" (mMol). The goal for this is to try to get the level of Lactic Acid as low as possible. For the different levels of work out we have different levels of Lactic Acid that we want to be at.
For Level 1= <1 mMol Level 2= 1-2 mMol Level 3=3-4 mMol Level 4=4-6 mMol Level 5= 6-10 mMol Level 6= Speed Level 7= Overspeed
