First off I still had 2 more weekends of World Cup Competitions before the season was over. I was very happy with my results in Oslo as I was very close to the podium the first day and skied very well on the XC course again. I was happy to finish off the season in 16th overall. I know if I ski more consistent, at the beginning of the season, things will only get better and I could possibly move into the top 10 overall.
After the season I had, I was really looking forward to taking some time off before getting back into training on April 1st. A couple friends and I ended up going to Mexico for a little vacation and fun. It was a perfect way to wind down from my fabulous season and get ready to look forward to what is on the horizon for me. While in Mexico we went surfing a little and even when on a cruise where we saw a bunch of whales and had loads of fun.
I returned back on Park city on the 31st of March and it was right back into the new year with Physical testing. I was looking forward to getting back to "NORMAL LIFE" and doing what feels comfortable. I was happy with my testing and my results show that I am coming into summer with good fitness to build upon. For these first months, I will mostly be on my new Road bike racing on the weekends. It is a great way for me to be motivated and to get amazing endurance training. I will be trying to get My Category 1 Upgrade which is right below Pro, throughout the summer. We have also been having a lot of new snow in Park City, so backcountry skiing is a must. But while I am doing this, I will never get the thoughts of SOCHI 2014 out of my mind, as that is where all my focus will be.
